Nina has been coaching for several years and two with the Warhawks.
She started her hockey career when she was five years old playing with Glenview. She played four years at Loyola Academy and played four years of D3 hockey at Concordia University in Wisconsin.
She continues to play with the Chicago North Stars, which is an elite women's hockey team aiming to be the best in the Midwest.
Her coaching philosophy focuses getting better every day off and on ice and learning from your mistakes, so you can achieve your goals as a player.

Mary has been with the Warhawks since 2021. Prior to that she coached H.S girls, various Wilmette girls’ teams as well as Niles Ranger youth hockey teams.

Her philosophy focuses on developing each player to their full potential as well as creating a team bond that will last beyond the season.

Jen started out playing hockey as a Skokie Flyer at the age of eight. She played in high school at Loyola Academy and double rostered on various travel teams, including winning a state championship in 2009. She continued her career at The Ohio State University on the ACHA D1 team. She was highly inspired by her coaches that helped build her confidence, showing their belief in her abilities and skill set.
She hopes to encourage the next generation of female players by bringing out their strengths and confidence.

Affectionately known as "buds", Bob has been bringing his two daughters to Warhawks practices since 2017. Bob brings a deepth of defensive skills coaching and an eye for power play and penalty kill.

Bill began coaching with his brother, Bob, at Glenview in 1986. His coaching career spans many years including winning many state and national championships.
Bill joined the Warhawks since the start laying the first foundation for the program. “I am proud to be part of an organization, and help it grow from the ground up”, Bill commented. “The fast growth of the Warhawks can be attributed to the work of the Board, and finding coaches who are passionate, and knowledgeable”.

Sofia is the FIRST alumni coach of the Warhawks program. While still a student at Loyola College, Sofia finds the time to dedicate to coaching.
She loves the program and helping the girls reach their potential. Sometimes referred to as "billie eilish" she is small in size, but big in heart! We are luck to have her on the ice and the bench!

Dave Mugavro (“Mugsy”) is the head coach of the 16/19U and 12U Blue team. Mugsy has coached for 15 years and played in USHL and NAHL.
His coaching philosophy is focused on developing the players both on and off the ice to be the best they can. He believes this is achieved by focusing on having fun, learning, and developing skills. He wants the girls to look forward to coming to the rink each week and to help grow their love of the game!

Brad Buican has been the head coach of the 14U Blue team and now the assistant on the 16/19 team. Brad has been coaching the team since 2022.
Brad began his hockey career playing for the Skokie Flyers with his brothers. He continued to play through high school at Glenbrook South, He continues to play elite level men’s league hockey and won the USA Hockey state championship and went on to place 3rd in the National Tournament in 2001.
His reward as a coach is when a player might need a little more help to be a better player. It’s so satisfying to see when they “get it”, build confidence in themselves, and watch as it becomes fun for them.

John is the assistant coach of the 16U Blue team and has been coaching the team since 2022. John began his hockey career playing at Mcfetridge sports center. He continued to play through high school at Weber and also in different men's leagues.
He has coached throughout the past 12 years at the Skokie Skatium ice arena from the 8u level through the 18u. The thing he finds rewarding throughout the years of coaching is the interactions with the players and helping them to understand the game and to see them continue to play after youth hockey.

Stoney is the head coach for the 14U Blue in her 2nd year with the Warhawks. She also will be joining LFA as their girls head coach this season. Stoney also brings over six years of coaching experience in girls’ hockey.
She began playing hockey in Minnesota when she was twelve years old and continued to play in college for the Wisconsin Badgers Club including winning two National Championships in the ACHA League while being voted National Player of the Year in 2003. Her coaching philosophy includes understanding that team sports teach deeper life lessons such as collaboration, conflict resolution, and personal accountability.

Dean comes to Warhawks as the Goalie Coach with more than 30 years experience as a goalie instructor in the Chicago area. He played his youth hockey in Evanston and continued through three years of Junior A hockey. Dean’s coaching experience is extensive, working with CYA, Team Illinois, the Blues, and a number of other organizations, and he has been on the bench for State Championship games at the Midget AAA, Bantam AAA, Midget Central States, and Boys High School (Glenbrook South) and Girls High School (Loyola) levels.
Dean operates Dean Opper Goalie Instruction offering a wide array of goalie clinics. In addition to offering goalie instruction, Dean is able to provide skills instruction for skaters in his clinics and team formats working with outstanding skills instructors to offer comprehensive skills instruction for individuals and teams.

The Role: oversees coaching education and assists with practices for teams, ensuring strong player development and fair treatment. They recruit and evaluate coaches, implement training programs, promote a positive culture, facilitate communication within the organization, and respond to inquiries about the hockey program. They also generate goals for program growth, conduct parent meetings, provide input on team compositions, and serve as the escalation point for player and parent issues. They should be known to parents at the respective age levels.
Ice Director(s)
The Role: oversees the management and scheduling of all indoor and outdoor ice for North Shore Warhawks Hockey Club, secures ice allocations, maintains arena relationships, and manages team calendars and practice schedules.
